Both Carrick and Terry have been phenomenal for their respective clubs over the years and their form this season too have been vital for the teams' fortunes.
According to reports, Manchester United will activate a one-year extension of Michael Carrick’s GBP 130,000-a-week contract to keep the central midfielder at Old Trafford beyond the summer. Carrick had earlier agreed to the clause when he signed a two-year deal in 2013.
The 33-year-old has been one of their most influential players since his return from a long injury and has been the engine of the team since then.
Meanwhile, Chelsea skipper John Terry will sign a one-year extension after manager Jose Mourinho revealed the news. The 34-year-old will be a leading has been crucial for Chelsea's defence after some outstanding displays.
Mourinho stated that it is a formality now as the skipper will sign a contract soon. Jose is a huge admirer of Terry and has voiced his appreciation for the former England international on numerous occasions.
